Woman Caught In Adultery

Writer's picture: Lucas SantanaLucas Santana

Jesus was teaching in the temple early in the morning. As he sat down to teach, those knuckleheads we know as the Pharisees brought a woman who they "so called" caught in adultery. They tried to bring this woman to Jesus, asking a gotcha question, so they could trap him and find right to accuse him. But Jesus was 10,000 moves ahead of them. They said that the law requires such who was caught in the act of adultery to be stoned to death. They were trying to partially quote Leviticus 20:10. But if the Pharisees were honest, they would have said that both the man and the woman were both to be put to death.

My question is:

1)Where was the man in all of this?

2)Were these a bunch of sexist creeps who felt men could do no wrong?

3)Were these who brought the woman by the window, watching and gazing in on the action.

4)For them to know her sins so well, were some of these guys sleeping with her on the low(undercover), while appearing to be so holy before men? Is that why they didn't bring the man?

So as the hypocrites were tempting and or testing Jesus knowledge of the law, he flipped the script on them and began to write in the dirt, stood up, and stooped back down to write some more. Whatever he wrote brought conviction to the hearts of the womans accusers. So the eldest to tje the least or youngest dropped their stones and left. As the woman looked up, Jesus was still there and asked "where are your accusers woman"? She replied "there's no one Lord". And Jesus said "neither do I condemn the. Go and sin no more(don't practice a lifestyle of blatant sin).

When you sin against God, don't run and hide like Adam and Eve did in the Garden of Eden. But run to God, because he's always willing and ready to forgive!
