If you saw someone going down a physical road and you knew there was danger ahead, would you warn them? I hope so. God warned the Israelites of danger ahead of them if they would not repent and turn from idolatry. But before that, he warned them not to even turn to idolatry. If they woul not Repent and turn from their wickedness and backsliding ways, then they would be brought back into bondage by other countries that God allowed.
The Prophets Warned them, but to no avail. God out of his mercy tries to warn his people, even now crying out to: turn around, wake up, warning, Repent!!!!! He uses watchmen and watchwomen to warn the people. To attempt to wake up the sleeping masses in a physical, but most of all spiritual sense. That's why true preachers preach with Holy Spirit conviction and warn the people that Jesus is Coming soon! Get your house in order spiritually speaking. Others warn of what's happening and coming down the pipeline in the political, social, financial, and economic world. But it's up to the people to hear and give heed to the warning!
