2nd Chronicles 7:14 says"If my people which are callled by my name shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways. Then will I hear from heaven, I will forgive their sins, and heal their land".
This is the spiritual recipe for God to move! God has given us the ingredients for:
1)Personal Renewal 2)National Revival and 3)Global Awakening!!!
Notice. "If My People". Revival begins with us first. If the church truly wants to see Revival, then the church has to be in a position for what He wants to send their way! Are people humbling themselves, seeking Gods face, praying, and turning from their wicked ways? Is their a hunger and thirst for God? Are people broken and Repentant?
Look at Asbury! There was little to any preaching, but it was a revival of non-stop worship, people were coming to the alters not because they were told to, but because they wanted to! God was doing something in them individually and collectively. Some were Repentant, some wanted a deeper hunger and walk with God! Some who thought they were saved was truly getting saved, and some came for Deliverance and freedom from drugs, alcohol and other addictions! The power of God was present where he was welcomed, and it drew others all around the country and affected other parts of the world!
Things that hinder and kill and also kills revival:
Division, which brings about church separations and splits. As one move of God and revival was ended because the congregants were quarreling over what color of carpet should be in the sanctuary. Pride keeps the hand of God from moving inwardly and corporately. Confusion will also because God is not the Author of it, but Satan is. Sin and letting Satan get a foothold in areas of our lives, and as a church body. Another thing that hinders revival from breaking out in local areas or congregations is because revival and the manifest presence of God cannot come and rest, abide, and dwell, where he's not welcomed. You have some Pastors today that are so far divorced from God's word, that the spirit of God is no where to be found. Ichabod: Which means the Glory of God has departed. There's no sound Doctrine, sheep being led astray by false shepherds who are blind as the sheep. The spirit of the world is abundantly in these places and if you have any spiritual discernment, you'll see it because of the messages and things be preached in those so called churches. Loving what God hates, and hating what God loves. Can revival come to these places also? Absolutely! The recipe and answer is 2nd Chronicles 7:14 as I said earlier! Humble yourselves, Pray, Seek Gods Face, and Turn from your wicked ways. REPENT ! REPENT!........REPENT!!!
Blessings in Christ,
Pastor Barry Lipscomb Jr.
