Dwelling In The Secret Place

Writer's picture: Lucas SantanaLucas Santana

One on-line definition of the word dwell means to abide in or live at. I can dwell on and focus on the nonsense in the mainstream media. I can dwell on how my family, job or relationship issues and so on. But if I'm "Dwelling" on those things, then that's where I'm stuck at. I am abiding at that location and am not moving forward and Beyond that point. Some are Dwelling on the past and living in yesterday. You can dwell on all the debt you have or personal circumstances, but in the long run it will rob you of your peace and joy. This is what the enemy(Satan)desires to do. John 10:10"Satan comes but to steal, kill, and to destroy. But I come that they might have life, and that more abundantly".

When I choose to Dwell in the secret place of the most high God, according to Psalms 91, that's where I find peace, joy, strength and Renewal in the Spirit of the living God. Alot of things war against the mind and, if we allow, gets into our heart. That’s why we have to guard our heart according to 4:23. God wants you to come into his presence with boldness because you are his child. He wants to spend time with you, sup with you, and love on you.

If you're dealing with fear and anxiety, come into the secret place. If you're dealing with anger and frustration, come into the secret place. If it's worry and doubt because of what's going on in society and the economy, then step into the secret place. Sometimes it's just turning on some worship music, and worshiping God, coming before him with praises of thanksgiving and entering into his courts with praise that breaks the chains of the enemy. That's a whole other subject on praise and worship right there, lol ! But when you worship God, you're creating an atmosphere where his presence can rest an "abide". When I'm focusing on God, it's harder to focus on my issues of life. Start magnifying The Lord instead of your problems and see what happens! Get in the secret place and allow God to renew you, restore you, refresh you, rejuvenate and replenish you in the spirit!!

Blessings in Christ Jesus,
